Create my Social Security account

To view all your Social Security benefits online, you must first create a My Social Security account. Here’s what to do.

1Go to ssa.gov on your browser, then scroll down and click Learn about my account Near My Social Security Account,

2. Next, click Create Account,

3. You will be asked to sign in with your account ID.me account Or create a login.gov account, unless you created one before September 18, 2021. Note that if you don’t have an account, you’ll need to create one of these accounts.

4Once your account is created, you will need to agree to the Terms of Service to continue.

5Next, you’ll need to verify your identity. The Social Security Administration will send a one-time security code to your email that you’ll need to enter within 10 minutes to continue to your account.

Social Security information you can view online

When you sign in to your online account, you’ll be able to view your Social Security details. If you’re not receiving benefits yet, you’ll see an estimate of the amount you’ll receive when you retire.

There is a table that shows how much monthly benefit amount you will receive if you retire. For example, if you were born in 1960 or later, your chart may show retirement at age 62 (early), age 67 (full), and age 70 (delayed). Note that these retirement ages may change in the future. The longer you wait to retire, the more money you may receive per month.

You can also check your eligibility and earnings information. If you’ve worked at least 10 years, you’ll have enough work credits—you need 40 to receive benefits. If you click Review Your Earnings Record, you’ll see the Social Security and Medicare income you’ve been taxed on for each year you’ve worked.
