Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 camera details leaked; Reportedly has BIS certification

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 may be announced alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July. The clamshell foldable phone, which has been in rumors for the past few months, has reportedly received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The handset has also reportedly appeared on the camera FV-5 database. The alleged BIS certification confirms the Indian launch while the camera FV-5 listing hints at an improved rear camera system.

According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has received BIS certification with model number SM-F741B. A screenshot of the listing shared by the publication shows that it received the certification on Monday (May 20). The listing hints at the India launch of the foldable, but it does not reveal any specifications.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 was also reportedly spotted on the camera FV-5 database. The listing suggests a primary sensor with 12.5-megapixel resolution, which is said to refer to a 50-megapixel camera with pixel binning. The sensor may have a focal length of 5.4mm and supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS). The addition of a 50-megapixel main rear camera would be a notable upgrade compared to last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 5, which got a 12-megapixel primary camera.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 was spotted on the Geekbench website last month with model number SM-F741U. It was listed with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, Android 14 operating system, and 6.75GB RAM for the Galaxy.

Previous leaks and rumors about the upcoming flip phone suggest that it will have a larger cover display than the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 may be available in 8GB or 12GB RAM options with 256GB or 512GB storage. It can support 25W charging.

Samsung’s second Unpacked 2024 event is rumored to take place on July 10. We can expect a lot more information about the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 to hit the web as we get closer to the rumored launch date.
