Ajax Engineering launches enterprise-grade AI chatbot Concrete GPT for industry-focused knowledge sharing

Concreting solutions provider, Ajax Engineering on Tuesday launched its artificial intelligence (AI) platform Concrete GPT. The AI chatbot is meant for concrete industry professionals and serves as a knowledge-sharing space to share innovation, market information and regulatory updates. The company claims that over one million experts in India will benefit from this AI tool. The AI platform can also be accessed without signing up. However, accessing Concrete GPT with an Ajax ID will unlock additional privileges for users.

Ajax Engineering launches Concrete GPT

In a press release, Ajax Engineering said that the AI platform is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4 large language model and Perplexity AI’s engine. The platform is designed in a typical chatbot style where users can enter their queries and prompts via text, voice or WhatsApp chat. The chatbot supports text and audio interactions in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Telugu, Marathi and Kannada. The company said that the platform was developed with support for multiple Indian regional languages to ensure that the benefits can reach even those who do not speak or write English.

Despite being powered by the Perplexity engine, Concrete GPT cannot access the internet. Its knowledge cut-off is March 2024. It is trained on global construction standards and the latest trends in the concrete and construction industry.

Highlighting some of the use cases of the chatbot, the company said it can be used for getting technical support, practical maintenance tips to optimise the performance of machinery, and compliance with safety guidelines. The chatbot also provides information from diverse research materials to assist industry experts and veterans.

The concrete GPT platform looks similar to ChatGPT, however, its design is unique. The website opens the chatbot directly with a text field at the bottom and the chat window taking up a lot of space in the middle. On the left margin, there are several Ajax-related prompts that the user can tap to learn more about the company. On the bottom-left, a WhatsApp icon opens a QR code that can be scanned to directly talk to the chatbot in the instant messaging app.
