Key Features

Read our breakdown of all the Amazon Prime benefits you should take advantage of.

It might not be the best music streaming service, but Amazon Music Unlimited earns an honorable mention in our guide. Five months of free service for Prime members (three months for non-Prime members) should be enough to entice some people to give it a try. Amazon Music Unlimited gives you ad-free access to over 100 million tracks in 16-bit, 44.1-kHz quality (24 bit, 192 kHz where available).

Easily the best audiobook service, Amazon’s Audible Premium Plus gives you access to a library of Audible Originals, audiobooks, and podcasts, one credit each month that you can use on any audiobook title of your choice, and regular special deals and discounts. Prime members can get three months free right now (one month for non-Prime members), after which it costs $15 per month. The beauty is that you get to keep the titles you buy with the credit even after your subscription ends.

Deals on Amazon Tech

Amazon’s growing device discounts are so frequent that you should never pay full price. But the deepest discounts are reserved for the Prime Day event, and this year is no exception. Here are some early Amazon device deals you can get right now.

Our favorite Amazon Fire tablet is also the best tablet you can get for under $200, so the big discount makes it quite attractive. We like the big screen, great performance, and support for Alexa with Show Mode, which enables this tablet to double as an Echo Show smart display. The downside is that you’ll have to pay an extra $15 to get rid of ads on the lock screen, and it won’t run Google apps without a workaround.

If you like a portable tablet in an easily manageable size, the Fire HD 8 is the most affordable option. It offers great performance, hands-free Alexa, stereo sound, USB-C and around 12 hours of battery life. The 8-inch screen isn’t as big or nice as the HD 10, but it’s decent value for money. It was already the best value Fire tablet and has been frequently discounted, but we’ve never seen it at this low a price before.

As the top Eero mesh system currently available, it’s the cheapest we’ve seen in the Max 7 (7/10, Wired review). This Wi-Fi 7 mesh opens up the 6-GHz band, as well as the 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz bands we’re used to. Wi-Fi 7 promises dramatic improvements in speed and stability, with capable devices able to connect to multiple bands at once. A two-pack will easily cover most homes, are backward compatible with Eero’s earlier systems, and they’re our top recommendation for smart homes. That said, it’s early days for Wi-Fi 7, and even with the discount, this is an expensive mesh.

It’s still a little early for most people to consider Wi-Fi 7, but because Wi-Fi 7 systems are hitting the market, we’re seeing prices on Wi-Fi 6E routers drop quickly. The tri-band Eero Pro 6E (7/10, WIRED recommends) is one of the best mesh systems, offering super speedy performance, 6-GHz Wi-Fi (with relatively short range), easy smart home hub functionality, and compatibility with other Eero devices. The Eero Plus subscription is expensive at $10 per month or $100 per year, but it adds a lot of value with security, parental controls, VPN service, and a password manager. This is the cheapest price we’ve ever seen for a three-pack, enough to cover up to 6,000 square feet.

If you want some cheap security cameras for your property, this is an attractive price for the Blink Outdoor 4 and Blink Mini 2 (7/10, WIRED recommend). We haven’t tested the Outdoor 4 yet, but the Mini 2 is one of our favorite indoor security cameras, with a compact design, clear 1080p footage at 30 frames per second, and two-way audio. The catch is that Blink cameras require a subscription of $10 per month for unlimited cameras or $100 per year to unlock 60-day unlimited cloud video history and on-device person detection.

Baseus MagSafe Portable Charger

Photo: Baseus

You can charge this power bank by sticking it to the back of your MagSafe iPhone to power its battery. With a massive 10,000 mAh capacity, this is one of the best MagSafe power banks we’ve tested. It will fully charge any MagSafe iPhone at least once. It has a soft-touch finish, gentle curves, a USB-C port, a power button, and three LEDs on the bottom edge. This power bank is often discounted, but this is the lowest price we’ve seen.

You can avoid tangles altogether with this clever retractable cable from Baseus. Available in a few fun colors, this flat cable comes wrapped inside a circular case. Pull the USB-C ends and you can fix it at a preset length (1.1, 1.9, 2.7, or 3.3 feet). When you’re done, just pull and release and the cable will coil back neatly inside the case. It’s good for charging at up to 11 watts but only supports data transfer speeds of 480 Mbps. We think this is one of the best USB-C cables.

Clip the on-page coupon to get maximum deal value. This affordable security camera records decent-quality footage, has a starlight sensor that offers color night vision, microSD card support that goes up to 512GB, and an IP66 rating, which means it can be used outdoors. It also has smart detection (people, pets, and vehicles), offers 2K resolution, supports slightly laggy two-way audio, and has an optional Tapo Care subscription for 30 days of cloud storage from $3.50 per month. The more basic Tapo C110 is the best budget camera in our best indoor security cameras guide, but with the discount, you should choose the slightly better C120 instead.

HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Gaming Headset

If you don’t like charging your wireless gaming headset, the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless (10/10, Wired recommends) is for you. This headset can last up to 300 hours on a single charge. It also offers great, booming sound, comfortable ear cups, and intuitive controls. The only thing it lacks is a headphone jack. This headset has been discounted to around the same price before, but it usually costs around $170.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Tablet

This 11-inch AMOLED Android tablet (7/10, WIRED recommends) is a powerful, thin slate with top-tier specs, from the flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset to long-lasting battery life. It comes with the S Pen stylus, so you can sketch on it, and Android is improved enough that you can use it to do some light work. Read our best tablet guide for more recommendations.

Hoover OnePWR Evolve Pet Elite Cordless Vacuum

Hoover OnePower Evolve Pet Elite

Photo: Hoover

Lightweight and powerful, this cordless vacuum picked up everything from cereal to trash in one go on its medium setting. It can even stand up on its own, which is something only a few cordless vacuums can do. Hoover’s appliance has been at the top of our best cordless vacuum guide for a while now and still holds up as a good midrange option. Battery life is a little disappointing, though you can always buy a spare to switch. This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for this vacuum.

Stylish and relatively compact, this is one of our favorite beard trimmers. It has a digital display that shows the battery level as a percentage, boasts a long battery life of 120 minutes, and recharges in just an hour. WIRED contributor Andrew Williams found it excellent for sharp lines and a razor-like close shave on the neck. Philips recommends replacing the head every four months, though you might not need to. That’s not a huge discount, but we’ve only seen it slightly cheaper.

The only thing that kept it out of the top spot in our best hair straighteners guide was its price. We’ve never seen it this low, although it’s only the white model that’s on sale. The T3 has a unique temperature-finding feature the company calls HeatID technology that we felt minimised damage. To find the right temperature, select your hair characteristics via the touch controls on the iron’s handle: texture (fine, medium, coarse), length (short, medium, long), and whether your hair is coloured. We also like its Refresh mode for touching up hair later at a lower temperature based on previous settings.

Cosori Pro III Dual Blaze Air Fryer

Photo: Cosori

Air fryers enable you to cook food quickly and potentially in a healthier way. The best air fryers are essentially compact convection ovens that heat up quickly to make things like crispy chicken, fries, and donuts. This Cosori is our favorite smart air fryer because it can be controlled remotely using a smartphone or tablet (it also has a digital control panel). We liked its sleek, black, premium design, the cooking drawer pulls out easily, and the handle doesn’t get hot during use. Just pay attention to the edges, as they do get a little hot, so make sure the air fryer has enough space. Temperatures range from 175 degrees Fahrenheit to a powerful 400, with 12 preset cooking modes.

If you need a new grill for the backyard this summer, this Weber model is our favorite gas grill because of its simplicity, build quality, even cooking temperature, and easily adjustable burners. There’s plenty of room for all your plates and platters, with a side tray, and handy hooks for tongs and tools. It has solid porcelain-coated cast-iron grill grates, which make it relatively easy to clean with a little soap and water. WIRED reviewer Scott Gilbertson’s favorite feature is the huge turn radius of the burner knobs, which makes it easy to dial in the perfect flame.

RAPTababy Sound Machine

photo: RAPTBABY

The best sound machines can help you drift off to sleep and sleep through the night. This sound machine is our pick for babies, and it has a cute design with eight soundtracks, including classical music and womb sounds that can relax them. You can play the sounds continuously or choose 30-, 60-, or 90-minute timers. The makers claim it’s a neuroscientist-designed gadget that encourages language development, which we’re a little skeptical about, but it’s a good option for getting your little one to sleep.

This is our top budget chair recommendation in our best office chairs guide. It often comes in at this price, but not any lower. It has breathable mesh fabric on the back and seat, plus it’s sturdy and holds up well after years of use.
